Review Of The Wilson Clash 100L V2
Clare Lim
Having tried it out on the court for 2 months, here’s my review of the Wilson Clash v2.0 100L.
Specifications: 100 sq in, 280g, 9 pt HL, 16x19.
Its specifications are suitable for most beginners and intermediate players. I find the matte design and colour combination very appealing, sleek and sexy.
At the baseline, it’s easy to manoeuvre the racket with long groundstrokes, full swings and faster racket-head speed. Because of its light weight, I find it easy to shorten my swing to return faster balls. It is also spin-friendly, thanks to the open 16x19 string pattern. The string-bed offers a comfortable response even when I miss the sweet spot.
At the net, the Clash v2 provides both comfort and control, and is great for reflex volleys. However, stability is a little compromised against hard hitters.
What I like most about it is that it is very flexible and forgiving. Unlike most of my other rackets, I did not feel much vibration in my elbow and arm, as it is less stiff. This is a HUGE bonus for me. It feels like I can swing it fast and easily all day long with much comfort - provided I had more stamina and strength!
The Clash v2.0 would be one of my main work horses for the next few years, thanks to its comfort and flexibility!
