The Swiss maestro Roger Federer may possibly be returning to Wimbledon this year as BBC’s commentator. It is reported that talks of Federer joining the BBC commentary team for the upcoming Wimbledon are in the advanced stages.

Novak Djokovic just claimed his 10th Australian Open Title after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5) in just under 3 hours. This victory marks his 28th winning streak at the Australian Open since 2018 and he now equals Rafael Nadal with the most Grand Slam Titles (22) won. 

Novak Djokovic is into the second week at the Australian Open 2023 without a hitch. He is to play American Tommy Paul on Friday for a spot in the finals for the first Grand Slam title of the year. The win against Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals is his 39th consecutive win in Australia.

The draw is completed and the stage is set for the players to try to clinch the first Slam of the year. Unfortunately, world no. 1 Carlos Alcaraz was forced to withdraw from the first major due to another injury on his leg, and with Carlos out of the picture, Rafael Nadal is the top seed and defending champion in the men’s draw.

Rafael Nadal has kicked off his 2023 season at the United Cup with Team Spain in Sydney before the Australian Open. This is Nadal’s first appearance on court since the Nitto ATP Finals last November ending his season as World No. 2.

Taylor Fritz defeated the defending champion, former world no. 1 Daniil Medvedev, to win his first Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia, ending his 2022 season on a high note. Fritz had an amazing season this year and broke into the top 10 for the first time.

Team Canada became the Davis Cup Champion for the first time since their first appearance in 1913. The winning team consists of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Vasek Pospisil, Alexis Galarneau and Gabriel Diallo, led by Frank Dancevic. Before becoming champions at the event this year, the closest they have come was in 2019 when they lost to Spain in the finals in Madrid.

As the season comes to a close, Casper Ruud is set to play Novak Djokovic at the finals of the Nitto ATP Finals on Monday, 21st November. It will be their fourth meeting and Novak Djokovic is leading Casper Ruud in their head2head 3-0.

Holger Rune from Denmark, the current world no.18, advances to his first-ever Masters 1000 event finals in Paris. To get to the finals, Holger defeated the current world no.1 Carlos Alcaraz (6-3 6-6 RET) in the quarterfinals, and in the semis Holger got the better of the current world no. 8 Felix Auger-Aliassime (6-4, 6-2), whom he had lost to just last week at the Basel Open Finals. Holger has had a fantastic indoor season, reaching 4 straight finals with a W-L record of 18-2.

World no. 9 Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime upsets the world’s top seed Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz at the Swiss indoors open on Saturday 29th October. Felix in top form, produced a stunning performance on court and defeated Carlos in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 in just 82 minutes at the semifinals of the Basel Open.

The young Canadian claimed his 2nd Tour level singles title just last week at the Florence Open, bringing him to a career high ranking of no.8. Felix will advance to his second consecutive ATP Tour finals at Antwerp after defeating Richard Gasquet in 2 sets 7-6(2), 7-6(3).

The current world no. 1 and 3-time Grand Slam Champion is having her best session in 2022. She just claimed her 63rd match win of the session against American Jessica Pegula at the semifinals of the San Diego Open. She had to come back from a first-set loss, eventually winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

The current world no. 7 Novak Djokovic triumphs over world no. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas at the finals of the Astana Open on Sunday (9th Oct). The Serbian took just 75-minutes to take down the Greek in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
